Skidmore College has reached an unofficial total of $85.5 million in its five-year fundraising campaign, surpassing its $78 million goal.
The college's financial condition has strengthened as a result of the fundraising effort, college officials said. The endowment has more than doubled to $121.2 million in April from $50.7 million in June 1993.
The college also has increased its number of endowed professorships to 13 from 3. And the scholarship endowment has raised $15.6 million.
